The start of the college football season is less than a week away, as the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes kick things off Saturday night. In honor of that, here are three bold predictions for the big-time showdown:

3. Someone Gets Ejected

Miami and Florida are historic rivals, but have played each other sparingly in recent years. That is set to change with an announced home-and-home series coming in 2024 and 2025, but the teams get the party started with a chippy game Saturday. It's the first game of the year, so we could see some extra fireworks. Plus, the two sides straight up don't like one another. Could this lead to either a brawl or a massive hit leading to an ejection? Stay tuned.

2. The Game is a Shootout

Both teams were impressive on the defensive side of the ball last season, with both ranking in the top-25 nationally for total defense. Both are expected to be above average this year, too, but teams are sloppy early in the season. This game is no exception, as both teams will put up over 30 points in a high-scoring affair. The freshman QB Jarren Williams proves he deserved the job, throwing for monster numbers in the matchup, leading to the final bold prediction.

1. Miami Defeats #8 Florida

Redshirt freshman Jarren Williams grabs the state by the neck and leads the Hurricanes to the upset victory over No. 8 Florida in his first collegiate start. The defense does just enough to secure the victory on the final drive of the game, leading to celebration for Manny Diaz and the Canes' sidelines. The stunned crowd in Gainesville quietly files out of the stadium after kicking of what will be a wild college football season.
