Florida and Miami in Discussions for a Home-and-Home Series
By Jerry Trotta

The Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators, much to the dismay of the common college football fan, have squared off just four times in the regular season since the 2002 campaign.
Therefore, you can understand why everybody and their mother is hyping up the school's Aug.24 clash at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. College GameDay is reportedly making the trip to Florida for the long-awaited showdown.
Well, if you presently find yourself counting down the days (10) until the rivalry is renewed, this piece of news is guaranteed to make you weak in the knees, and for good reason. Per the Orlando Sentinel, the two schools are discussing a home-and-home series in the near future.

It's worth noting that this potential implementation is still a few years off, with the Sentinel reporting 2023 is looking like the earliest season that it could happen.
Can't wait to talk some 'U' football with David, including what appears to be an imminent home-and-home series between the #Canes and #Gators per the Orlando Sentinel: https://t.co/vcI3Fobzzu https://t.co/wBst0yfQlQ

With that being said, the announcement appears imminent and we expect it will come as we get closer to the Aug. 24 clash.
It's about time though, no? In-state rivalries are what makes CFB so compelling, and Miami and Florida used to do battle regularly every season from 1938 to 1987! To say that the bitterness between the acclaimed ACC and SEC programs has been missed is a colossal understatement.
