Some would argue the Indians were already looking to trade away All-Star pitcher Trevor Bauer, but everybody remembers the star's final straw in Cleveland last season.

Having struggled to replicate numbers from the year prior, Bauer was scheduled to start on the road in Kansas City on July 28 – just days before the league trade deadline. The lowly Royals shelled Bauer for seven runs before he got pulled from the game in the fifth inning and gave us one of the season's best memes.

Bauer was traded to the Cincinnati Reds two days later and his epic meltdown on the mound of Kauffman Stadium will forever be linked to his falling out in Cleveland.

It wasn't until this week, however, that the star pitcher ever considered that moment as a reason why he was traded away at the deadline.

On Barstool Sports podcast, "Pardon My Take," Bauer admitted the heave could have been a part of his sudden trade from the team.

Bauer is able to laugh about it now, but before long he'll be in the thick of an intense postseason hunt out of a crowded NL Central. With the Cardinals, Brewers and Cubs vying to get back into the playoffs, the Reds will rely on Bauer and their bolstered pitching staff around him.
