It looks like Terry Francona ended up appealing to ownership and punishing Trevor Bauer after all.
According to the latest reports, the Cleveland Indians have traded Bauer to the Cincinnati Reds in a three-team deal with the San Diego Padres.

The MLB trade deadline is officially underway, folks.
We heard of buzz earlier in the day about the Reds inquiring about Bauer, but many speculated that wasn't a realistic trade considering Cincy isn't exactly in contention and the Indians could still use the right-hander's services given their recent surge.
But here's the deal that's going to get the action started. Baseball never fails to deliver.
AND YASIEL PUIG IS GOING TO THE INDIANS!

Now we seemingly have a final breakdown of the whole thing:
Per sources, the three-team deal looks like this:— Mark Feinsand (@Feinsand) July 31, 2019
Reds get Trevor Bauer (from CLE)
Padres get Taylor Trammell (from CIN)
Indians get Yasiel Puig, Scott Moss (from CIN), Franmil Reyes, Logan Allen, Victor Nova (from SD)
It sure looks like the Padres gave up a lot for just Taylor Trammell...
