Son of NASCAR Legend Mike Skinner Threatens Violence Against Bubba Wallace After Black Lives Matter Displays
By Michael Luciano

The NASCAR community has rallied around driver Bubba Wallace, a social justice advocate who was shocked to find a noose in his team's garage this week.. Dozens of drivers helped push Wallace's car down pit row at Talladega, a sign that they support the Black Lives Matter activist.
Unfortunately, Wallace's activism has earned him some new enemies. Dustin Skinner, the son of NASCAR star Mike Skinner, claimed he wants to see Wallace "drug around the pits" after congratulating the person who put the noose in his garage.

Skinner himself only ran in one race, a 34th place finish in 2008. He and his brother have since transitioned into a crew chief role, often in service of his father. Mike, the elder Skinner, only has one win to his name in NASCAR, but he has amassed 55 top 10 finishes in his long career in the Cup Series and XFinity Series. He has a startling 28 wins and 144 top 10 finishes in the truck series.
Skinner has since issued an apology on Facebook, claiming that his criticism "wasn't about race" and that he merely didn't agree with what Wallace is doing.

Here's the thing, Dustin. Everything Wallace has been doing IS about race, so if you don't agree with what he's doing, it shows you don't agree with the messaging behind it.
NASCAR has been at the forefront of promoting racial equality and a welcoming environment over the last few weeks, but statements like Skinner's show how long the road to redemption really is.
