Week 1 of the SEC season was top-heavy, as the six ranked squads took care of business while the rest looked shaky. No. 11 Florida could be roped into that category, but the Gators got the job done against a tough Miami defense.
Alabama started slow out of the gate and showed some vulnerabilities without key offensive weapons in the first quarter. Should injuries and off-the-field issues affect them this year, the Crimson Tide could be in trouble.
Auburn's incredible last-second win over No. 16 Oregon almost convinced us to push the Tigers past Georgia this week. The Bulldogs were largely unimpressive in their 30-6 win over Vanderbilt, and Auburn's freshman quarterback Bo Nix showed incredible poise on that game-winning drive. Nix and the Tigers signaled to the conference that Auburn is here to stay.

LSU looks good this year, especially if the passing game is as good all year as it was in Week 1. The Tigers threw for 350 yards and scored 55 points in a rout of Georgia Southern. Granted, it was only Georgia Southern, but LSU looked good. This could finally be the year they conquer the Crimson Tide.
Next week should be fun, with No. 6 LSU traveling to No. 10 Texas, and No. 12 Texas A&M on the road at No. 1 Clemson.
