3 Available QBs That Make More Sense for the Raiders Than Tom Brady

The Las Vegas Raiders, despite the recent success of star quarterback Derek Carr, have reportedly zoned in on Tom Brady ahead of their move to the Sin City. The big problem with that, though, is that signing him just wouldn't make sense. Brady will be 43 next year, and this youthful Raiders team needs a quarterback who can last.

If they're serious about finding another quarterback, instead of going for a veteran in the latter stages of his career, the Raiders should set their sights on these gunslingers.

3. Ryan Tannehill

Tannehill's success in Tennessee ahead of free agency has made him one of the hottest commodities out there, but it's his past that makes him a good fit for the Raiders. He's been doubted and underrated for the majority of his career, making him the perfect guy to light a fire underneath this feisty core of rising stars. It gives them a slept-on stud to lead a slept-on offense, and sliding Tannehill into Jon Gruden's system just as he seems to be entering his prime could make the Raiders an offensive threat to be reckoned with in 2020.

2. Justin Herbert

What better way to complement a young team filled with rising stars than to draft a young, rising star at quarterback? Herbert checks all the boxes on his draft profile: he's got the long ball, he's incredibly athletic, and he doesn't commit many turnovers. Drafting Herbert might be difficult, especially considering the Raiders pick 12th and he might go in the top 10, but he would be well worth it.

1. Teddy Bridgewater

Bridgewater is everything the Raiders could ever hope for. He's 27, he's no stranger to leading an unfamiliar group of guys, and he's shown flashes of brilliance during his five years in the NFL. In 2019, he finished with a strong 99.1 passer rating despite being unexpectedly thrust into the starting role in New Orleans for five games when Drew Brees went down. He's shown the mentality and the talent to get the job done in a variety of situations. Bridgewater would make for the perfect quarterback to spearhead this Raiders team.
