The crown jewel of John Calipari's 2019 recruiting class was three-point deadeye Johnny Juzang, a Southern California kid that looked to be destined for college and pro stardom in short order.

Those dreams have been dashed after just one season, as Juzang has put his name in the transfer portal.

Juzang confirmed his desire to leave the Wildcats on Twitter. He took the time to thank the Kentucky coaching staff, calling last year "special."

Juzang played in just 12.3 minutes per game this season, averaging just 2.9 points per game while shooting just 37 percent.

Juzang was a star at Harvard Westlake HS in Studio City, Calif. last year, and chose the Wildcats over West Coast schools like Stanford, USC, and Oregon. National powers like Virginia and Kansas were also in on the sweet shooting 6-7 guard.

All those schools should be considered potential landing spots for the guard, who is probably regretting his trip to Lexington.

Juzang's numbers are not indicative of the type of player that he can be when he's fully healthy and he's in a groove. While Calipari clearly was not the coach that was able to get the most out of him this year, he could still be the type of impact transfer that changes a program's whole outlook for 2020-21.
