After several reports dropped in the last few days hinting the Los Angeles Lakers emerged as favorites to land Kawhi Leonard this offseason, we now have another twist to the tale.

Fox Sports commentator Cris Carter is reportedly one of the most well-informed individuals in regards to Kawhi, largely because he is close with members of The Claw's inner circle, and he has been delivering updates and rumors on Leonard's future ever since he elected to test the free agency waters.

Well, on FS1's First Things First Tuesday morning, the Hall-of-Fame wideout claimed that Leonard has yet to make a decision and that the Lakers, Clippers, and Raptors are all presently on a level playing field.

Talk about a game-changer. If Carter's report is true, we could end up having a free agency race for the ages when all is said and done.

The Board Man would propel the Lakers from a legit championship contender to the unprecedented favorite; the Raptors would become an afterthought in the East should he choose to play in his hometown state; and the Clippers would be poised to accomplish what Kawhi did with Toronto this season, should he elect to play for Doc Rivers.

At this point, however, Leonard will continue to take his sweet time.

In essence, we are right back where we started and this potentially league-altering race just got a whole lot more enticing and suspenseful.
