The rebirth of the XFL isn't happening until 2020, but iconic Dallas Cowboys fullback Daryl "Moose" Johnston is already talking about helping its upstart Dallas franchise bring home an championship trophy.

Ideally, Johnston would like to work for an NFL organization, but for now, he'll be working in the front office as director of player personnel for XFL Dallas alongside head coach and general manager Bob Stoops.

Johnston has been one of the better TV analysts on Sundays for a while now, and like most former players-turned-commentators, he aspires to to work for an NFL team, as he told the Dallas Morning News.

"If [an NFL] opportunity ever presented itself, it would have to be a good situation. Hopefully, I have to make that decision down the road, but right now, job number one is to get a championship for Bob Stoops."

Stoops also spoke recently with the Morning News, stating that he'll be sufficiently busy coaching on the field, so most of the day-to-day front office duties will be within Johnston's purview.

Johnston clearly has great knowledge of the game, and it's evident every time he's in the booth for FOX Sports-- not to mention he was a part of one of the greatest NFL dynasties ever with the 1990s Cowboys. And he recently served as the GM for the San Antonio Commanders in the now-dismantled AAF, so he already has some experience running a fledgling team.

Jon Gruden famously left the comfort of the ESPN Monday Night Football booth to be the head coach once again in Oakland; if Chucky can pull it off, surely Johnston can do something similar.
