After the demise of the Alliance of American Football, former Cowboys star Daryl "Moose" Johnston has landed on his feet in the XFL.

After being named GM of the AAF's San Antonio Commanders, Johnston has now officially been named the director of player personnel for the new XFL team in Dallas that will begin play in 2020.

Johnston made his name as Emmitt Smith's fullback on those legendary Cowboys teams in the 1990s, winning three championships.

Johnston's Commanders piled up a 5-3 and record and looked like the favorites to take home the AAF's Western Conference title before the league ran out of money and folded. It's an extremely limited sample size, but it looked like Johnston has the stuff to be a success in the executive's box.

Dallas is instantly looking like the most captivating watch in the XFL, as Johnston will team with former longtime Oklahoma Sooners boss Bob Stoops, who was previously named as their head coach.

It remains to be seen how successful the league will be, especially considering XFL 1.0 was the definition of an abject failure. But at the veyr least, the Dallas team is ambitious and confident in these early stages of development.
