The Philadelphia Eagles were the first team to make a move in locking up their quarterback from the 2016 draft class, as they agreed to a four-year, $128 million contract extension with Carson Wentz.

The Los Angeles Rams don't seem to be in a rush to lock up Jared Goff, but the pressure for the Dallas Cowboys to extend quarterback Dak Prescott is mounting.

Unfortunately for Dallas, they are "really far apart" on an extension with Prescott, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL.com

The sides are so far apart at the moment, that Garafolo expects them to table discussions and pick the talks back up later in the offseason.

This comes as a surprise, as both the Cowboys and Prescott were beginning to negotiate an extension weeks ago, but it sounds like this could go on all through the summer and into training camp.

Whether it should have an effect or not, Wentz getting $32 million per year ($66 million fully guaranteed) raises the floor for Prescott. There's no talk of Prescott taking a hometown discount, so him taking less than what Wentz got is out of the question.

This could get ugly for the Cowboys, who will be busy attempting to extend their haul of young talent. If Prescott's talks flame out, who's to say that the other negotiations will be any easier?
