The talks surrounding Dak Prescott's looming contract extension have died down a bit, but Jerry Jones briefly touched on the situation with Ian Rapoport on Wednesday.

Jones revealed that the extension for QB Dak Prescott is "going well" and that the team has opened discussions with other key players including Ezekiel Elliott.

Extending Prescott is at the top of the priority list for the Dallas Cowboys. The two-time Pro-Bowler and his camp have presented a counter to the original offer given by the organization, and according to Dak, there is no way to be sure of how things will play out from here:

"I mean, I can’t really say on that. It’s one from each side so yeah. . . .This is my first time doing this," Prescott said. "We’re about to get done. As of right now, I’m learning the process, too, and letting my team handle their business."

The deal is expected to be around $30 million a year as NFL quarterbacks continue to seek their pay day.

Russell Wilson completely changed the market this offseason when he agreed to a four-year, $140 million extension with the Seattle Seahawks. His $35 million salary is the highest in the NFL, followed by the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger ($34M) and Packers' Aaron Rodgers ($33.5M).

Despite all the natural stress that comes with an uncertain contact situation, Prescott still appears be more concerned with the team rather than himself in the following quote:

"Yeah, I mean, I think when you look at numbers, I think a lot of it is about the market, so I don’t really pay attention to any of that," Prescott said. "I come in and I just prove myself each and every day to these other guys in this locker room. That’s the only thing that I have to worry about."

It is only a matter of time before this deal gets ironed out and all of these offseason distractions fade, leaving the Cowboys with only one thing to focus on: The 2019 NFL Season.
