Clemson Facing LSU is Perfect for Dabo Swinney's Underdog Narrative

The fact that a 5-star quarterback who has yet to lose a game in 25 starts and is all but a lock to be picked No. 1 overall in 2021 can be an underdog in the National Championship speaks to the quality of Heisman winner Joe Burrow and LSU.

After pulling off a win against Justin Fields and Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl last night, Trevor Lawrence, Dabo Swinney, and Clemson will gear up for a matchup against Ed Orgeron's unbeaten No. 1 LSU in New Orleans.

Clemson has been pumping themselves up by playing the "disrespect" or underdog cards over the last few weeks, and this matchup plays right into Dabo's hands.

After future Cincinnati Bengal Burrow threw seven touchdowns and ran for another in an embarrassment of Oklahoma, how could Clemson possibly stop this dominant offensive juggernaut?

Well, Fields and the Buckeyes looked almost unstoppable in the regular season, and the duo of Lawrence and Travis Etienne came alive late to push Clemson into the final for the fourth time. Even after all that, Clemson is still a six-point underdog, which will only fuel the fire of a team that still feels as though they have been disrespected.

Burrow and that offense are totally different animals as compared to Ohio State, but Clemson snapping the Buckeyes' win streak should give them the momentum needed to hang with LSU.
