The Kansas City Chiefs' offense is arguably the best in the league, and that offense could be getting even better.

The Chiefs have their eyes set on bringing back offensive lineman Jeff Allen, per multiple reports.

The eighth-year pro broke into the league at left guard with Kansas City back in 2012 before transitioning to tackle in 2014. Allen found some success as a spot starter at left guard for the Chiefs midway through last season. Kansas City must have liked what they saw from Allen, because Geoff Schwartz is reporting the team will bring him back soon.

Allen left Kansas City for the Houston Texans in 2016 after he signed a lucrative four-year, $28 million free agent deal. Houston deployed him as their right guard for his tenure there.

Allen would help stabilize the Chiefs offensive line to allow phenom Patrick Mahomes more time to spread the ball around the field. The Chiefs have amazing talent, but it means little if they can't protect the quarterback.

If Kansas City wants to finally break through to the Super Bowl, the offensive line is key.
