Baylor HC Matt Rhule Confirms Gerry Bohanon Knee Injury Led to Jacob Zeno Move
By Ian Anderson

Having to choose between an injured backup and third-stringer is a tough decision for every coach to make, and ultimately Baylor head coach Matt Rhule made the right choice.
In their biggest game of the season, Rhule decided to go with third-string quarterback Jacob Zeno instead of the injured backup, and justified it in his press conference after losing 30-23 in overtime to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Rhule said QB Gerry Bohanon was hurting and hampered by a knee injury. That's what led to the decision to insert Jacob Zeno into the game. #Baylor

Bohanon himself was already a substitute, as starting quarterback Charlie Brewer had been injured earlier in the game, which meant that they were down to a nearly-never-used option.
Luckily, thanks to Rhule's move, insanity happened.
Third-string freshman quarterback Jacob Zeno performed amicably in replacement, including throwing this 81-yard touchdown to Trestan Ebner, as well as an 80-yard completion, on the fifth and sixth throws of his career.

Unfortunately for Baylor, playing amicably against the No. 6 ranked team in the country is not going to be enough to get a victory in the Big 12 Championship. But the legend of Jacob Zeno has officially been born.
