If Baylor is going to win the Big 12 Championship against the Oklahoma Sooners, they're going to have to do it without their starting quarterback.

Junior quarterback Charlie Brewer has been ruled out for the remainder of the game after suffering a nasty hit to the head in the first quarter.

Backup Gerry Bohanon, who had thrown all of 23 passes during his college career entering Saturday, took over as the leader of Baylor's offense. After stepping in, the Bears scored 13 unanswered points to end the first half on a high note.

Brewer clearly looked shaken up after getting sacked. He got to his feet with the help of his teammates, but once he was standing, he began to stagger a little bit as he made his way to the sideline.

It's certainly scary to see. Head injuries are never to be trifled with. While Brewer did return briefly to the game for one drive after sustaining the hit, the Bears replaced him Bohanon shortly after.

It's now up to Bohanon to lead the charge against an Oklahoma team with both sides looking to make it to the College Football Playoff.
