Former Montreal Expos writer Jonah Keri is on the wrong side of the law once again, but on new disturbing charges.

Keri was arrested on Tuesday on domestic violence charges for allegedly assaulting his wife and a minor in Montreal. Keri was detained overnight and released on bail on Wednesday. The identity of the minor has been protected by the court.

Keri was arrested in July for allegedly assaulting his wife. The new charges stem from an incident that took place between April and May of this year, months before his first arrest.

The former sports writer is now facing eight charges, which include assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, criminal harassment, and uttering threats, all of which were brought on by his wife.

Keri most recently worked for The Athletic and Sportsnet before both companies distanced themselves from him after his July arrest.

He's set to return to court in January.
