His last start came on May 14 when he allowed two earned runs over seven innings in a record-setting 17-strikeout performance against the Rockies, with a bad bullpen day taking away the win.

The Astros fly back to the Lone Star State after Sunday's game to begin a 10-game homestand, with a four-game series against the White Sox beginning Monday. Boston has its own four-game series as well this week, heading north of the border to take on the Blue Jays. The Red Sox and Astros meet again for another three-game series on Friday at Minute Maid Park, so a win today for Boston will be imperative to avoid falling far behind the AL powerhouse.
