4 Times Chris Broussard's Takes and 'Reporting' Were Laughably Wrong

Chris Broussard is one of the most well-known sports pundits in the NBA. However, that does not mean that the FOX reporter and commentator is the most reliable voice out there. Time and time again, Broussard has offered his followers updates regarding basketball news that have turned out to be completely, utterly untrue. Here are just some of the many examples of Broussard making a fool of himself.

1. Clippers Out of the Running for Kawhi

Broussard originally reported that the Los Angeles Clippers were out of the running for Kawhi Leonard, and that the race for "The Klaw" was down to the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Lakers. We now know that this report was plainly false. Instead, the 2019 NBA Finals MVP agreed to a three-year deal with the Clippers to form yet another title contender in Los Angeles.

2. Russell Westbrook's Legacy

You can look at Russell Westbrook's stat line over the past few seasons again and again until you are blue in the face, but that isn't going to make him a "legend." There is a reason that Westbrook doesn't have an NBA championship even with players like James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Paul George playing alongside him over the years. He is ultimately a selfish player who doesn't make the guys around him better. He is also a hothead, and pairing him with Blake Griffin, who also flashes a short temper every now and then, would probably not be the best idea.

3. Kevin Durant to... the Knicks!

I guess you could argue that Broussard got this one right. Maybe KD was recruiting players to go to New York, just not the Knicks. Instead, Durant chose to join the Brooklyn Nets to represent the other New York borough on a four-year, $164M contract with a player option in the final season.

4. Discussing Controversial LGBT Views on Live TV

It's the 21st century, for crying out loud! Personal beliefs are one thing -- this is America and thought policing is dangerous, after all -- but Broussard went live on ESPN's Outside the Lines to discuss the ramifications of openly gay players in the NBA and things took a turn. "If you're openly living [an LGBT] lifestyle, the Bible says you know them by their fruits, it says that that's a sin. If you're openly living in unrepentant sin, whatever it may be, I believe that's walking in open rebellion to God and Jesus Christ." Again, he said this on live television, not in his own home among his personal circle. Just bizarre, man.
