The New York Yankees are currently celebrating the signing of Gerrit Cole. However, they are still awaiting a ruling on what could be a key part of their rotation.

Domingo German was placed on administrative leave by the MLB back in September for domestic violence. According to Bob Klapisch of the New York Times, the situation surrounding German is still unclear.

German was deemed ineligible to play for the remainder of the 2019 season following the incident. It appears that the league is in no rush to complete their investigation and ultimately discipline the right-handed pitcher.

Klapisch also speculated that German could be attending rehab or therapy.

The 27-year-old will very likely be suspended for the beginning of the 2020 season, but the amount of games he will miss has yet to be released.

This is a very delicate topic in the sports world. There is a very good chance that the MLB will want to set an example with how they discipline German in order to discourage this type of behavior. Yankees fans will hope a decision is made in the near future.
