XFL Continues to See Decline in Viewers in Week 3
By Evan Wolff

Despite social media presence and and overall good feeling about the state of the XFL, the metric for the success of the league will always be how many people tune in. If the latest figures for the last XFL game week are any indication, the league should be discussing how to make sure the league retains fans week after week.
After an electric start to the opening week of the XFL season, the XFL has seen another drop in viewership for Week 3, after an initial drop in Week 2. In fact, the viewership has almost been cut in half from its promising start to the broadcasts.
For the second straight week, the XFL saw double-digit declines in viewership. Its Week 3 average of 1.61 million viewers was just 52 percent of the average audience in Week 1. https://t.co/l30YUa8WyZ

In the interest of being fair, it does seems as though there is a genuine interest in the XFL from fans, especially in St. Louis where they welcomed in their new team with open arms. However, league executives should be concerned with such a sharp drop-off and will certainly hope that the figure plateaus next weekend.
Just throwing it out there, a couple of the XFL games had a higher viewership than NBA primetime games https://t.co/hS8v7Le0hZ

As many have pointed out, the viewership drop doesn't mean people aren't watching. With Vince McMahon at the helm, and major TV networks seemingly interested in keeping on the league, it is certainly too early to predict an end to the XFL.
