Wake Forest Punter Has Perfect Name for Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium
By Michael Luciano

The New York Yankees have seen their fair share of legends over the years, but few of them even come close to Joe DiMaggio's level.
While Joe's playing career ending in 1951, Wake Forest appears dedicated to keeping his memory alive and well, as they trotted out a punter named Dom Maggio for their game against Michigan State in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Funny how things work out.
Maggio is playing his final collegiate game against Michigan State, and he'll put a bow on a solid college career. Maggio punted for four seasons, and his senior year average of 46.8 yards per punt is the kind of average that will get the pro scouts looking at him.
It's no 13 All-Star games, three MVPs, a 56-game hitting streak, and a Hall of Fame induction, but it'll do.
Wake Forest’s punter is named Dom Maggio? And he’s playing in a bowl game at Yankee Stadium? This should be on the front page of every newspaper in the world.

Maggio has a while to go before he's as good a punter as DiMaggio was an outfielder, but is there a better place for him to make a name for himself than at Yankee Stadium?
