The Vikings Should Use Assets Acquired From Stefon Diggs Deal to Make a Trade for Panthers WR Curtis Samuel

Alright Minnesota Vikings fans, it's time to turn the offseason around!

We learned earlier on Saturday that the team was interested in trading for Washington Redskins tackle Trent Williams, which would do wonders in terms of improving the rushing and passing game. But don't stop the exploration there, Rick Spielman!

Rumors suggest Carolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel is also available in potential trades, and the Vikings should make these two acquisitions to gear up for a promising 2020 season.

Ever since the team signed Kirk Cousins to an extension, everything went downhill. Everson Griffen broke off talks with Minnesota. Anthony Harris seemingly can't be traded after being slapped with the franchise tag. Stefon Diggs was traded. There's more, but you get it.

The least the front office can do now is use the assets acquired in the Diggs deal with the Buffalo Bills and make a run at Samuel, who is just 23 years old, just burst onto the scene in 2019 with 54 receptions for 627 yards and six touchdowns across 16 games. Everything there is a career high, and he did it all without Cam Newton and within a Christian McCaffrey-centered offense.

The 5-11, 195-pound wideout is only starting to blossom, and his speed and tremendous hands would add another threat to a Vikings offense that badly needs another after Diggs' departure.

Toss a third-rounder to Carolina for the former Ohio State star and call it a day.
