VIDEO: Yankees Race Out to Early Lead on Homers From Gary Sanchez and Gleyber Torres

After a bit of a slow start Thursday night in the Bronx, Gary Sanchez and Gleyber Torres opened the scoring in a big way for their Yankees against the AL West-leading Astros.

El Gary mashed his 22nd home run of the season off Framber Valdez to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead in the 4th inning. The Yankees catcher hit a 95 mph fastball about 10 rows deep into left field.

A few batters later, Torres blasted a ball into the left field bullpen to extend the Yankee lead to 4-0. The home run was Torres' 17th of the season.

Sanchez came into the game hitting .266 with a .336 OBP and 49 RBIs, while Torres is slashing .283/.345/.584. The Yankees currently sit 3.5 games above the Rays in first place of the AL East at 46-27.
