VIDEO: Pete Alonso Ties Aaron Judge's Rookie Home Run Record With 52nd Bomb of the Year

Scenes in Queens! Pete Alonso came into Friday night's clash against the Atlanta Braves just one home run shy of tying Aaron Judge's record of 52 for the most big fly's hit in a single season by a rookie. Well, the Mets phenom is now just one dinger away from having the record all to himself as he launched a frozen rope over the left field wall off Dallas Keuchel in the first inning to tie the record.

This certainly wasn't the typical moonshot that we've grown used to the Polar Bear clubbing in 2019, but it counts just the same.

Pete now has 26 innings left this season (barring an extra inning affair) to sock another big fly to make an already remarkable rookie campaign MUCH more historic.
