VIDEO: Pedro Martinez Breaks Down in Tears When Discussing David Ortiz's Shooting on MLB Network

Pedro Martinez and David Ortiz may have only been Boston Red Sox teammates for two seasons, but during that time they developed an obstinate, lifelong friendship. Therefore, the news of Ortiz's shooting in the Dominican Republic was especially traumatizing for the Hall of Fame pitcher. In fact, it's so agonizing for Pedro that he broke down in tears on MLB Network while paying tribute to his good friend.

So raw and powerful. This news obviously hits close to home for Pedro, who is also a Dominican Republic native on top of being one of Papi's oldest friends.

Like all of us, he's still struggling to come to terms with what happened.
And like Martinez, we'll all be praying for a speedy recovery from Ortiz as he receives further treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital.
