Tackling a player is no easy feat in football, which is why some desperate defenders resort to pulling on long hair and loose extremities just to bring players down. But however legal it might be, it's still brutal to watch. Oklahoma Sooners safety Pat Fields' tackle, which came by by pulling on the dreads of Baylor Bears running back JaMycal Hasty in the Big 12 Championship Game, is certainly no exception.

That's just gross and painful on so many levels. It's not a penalty, but it feels at least a little bit underhanded, especially considering Fields continued to pull on the hair well after Hasty was on the ground.

Maybe this will be a cautionary tale to other players to at least protect their hair when they step out onto the football field.

If they don't, then they're prone to be tackled in painful fashion just like this.
