Over the past month, it appeared that MLB was going to take a backseat to the NBA and NHL in their return to action. The league and MLB Players Association couldn't see eye-to-eye on anything during negotiations. But then, commissioner Rob Manfred mandated a 60-game season, which the players union agreed to. This week, all 30 teams have reported to their respective facilities to get ready for summer camp. On Friday, MLB issued a video statement to tell fans, "welcome back."

There's no song more fitting to be featured in this video than rapper Mase's hit single, coincidentally titled "Welcome Back."

Players and coaching staff reported for the second act of Spring Training this past Wednesday, where they were subject to coronavirus screening. If they received a negative COVID-19 test, they were allowed to participate in on-field drills.

This season is going to be vastly different than from year's past, mostly due to the ongoing global pandemic. It's going to be weird, but it's something that all fans must embrace. A 60-game baseball season is better than no baseball season.
