VIDEO: LSU AD Scott Woodward Throws Obvious Shade at Nick Saban During Baton Rouge Luncheon

LSU football has had its fair share of losses to Alabama in recent years, and that's perfectly understandable. Though the Tigers always compete, Bama's explosive offense has been overwhelming for even their elite defense over the past half-decade.
But LSU's Athletic Director Scott Woodward has had enough of the losing, and is reciprocating the hurt feelings from previous football seasons.
LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward on Nick Saban:

"I know that there's a guy in Alabama that has regrets that he's not here today and shame on him. But, we have one (Skip Bertman) with a higher IQ that's here today." #GeauxTigers #GeauxNation @BHollandSports pic.twitter.com/svlygUEckU
Yes, Woodward had something to say to Nick Saban while speaking Wednesday. He shamed Saban for leaving LSU for the NFL back in 2005, and jokingly said the baseball coach Skip Bertman had a higher IQ than Saban.
Saban coached the Tigers from 1999-2004, having relative success record-wise, but wasn't nearly as successful as he's been during his time with Alabama. Saban left after the 2004 season to coach the Miami Dolphins, but quickly flamed out of the NFL and returned to the college ranks.
While Woodward's intentions were great, his delivery was rather poor. There are definitely better lines to throw shade with than talking about someone's IQ. He clearly realized he sounded pretty salty after shaming Saban for leaving 15 years ago, so he resorted to insulting Saban's intelligence.
Next time, if Woodward wants to hit him where it hurts, he needs to just go straight for the Dolphins part of Saban's career.
