VIDEO: Lincoln Riley Clearly Emotional When Announcing Oklahoma CB Tre Norwood is Lost for Season
By Michael Luciano

There isn't much to write home about on the Oklahoma defense, but star defensive back Tre Norwood remains a standout. Unfortunately for the Sooners, they'll have to play the 2019 season without him, as Norwood suffered a knee injury that will keep him out for the entire year. Head coach Lincoln Riley was visibly upset and emotional when he had to break the news about his veteran defensive back.
In his junior season, Norwood piled up 58 tackles, a sack and an interception. He figured to be a versatile piece in new defensive coordinator Alex Grinch's defense, but Oklahoma's grand vision has gone awry at the first hurdle.
Brendan Radley-Hiles and Parnell Motley, members of interim DC Ruffin McNeill's oft-shredded unit in 2018, will likely fill the void left by Norwood.

If you knew you had to coach that Norwood-less defense for another season like Riley has to, you'd be upset too.
