One of the most promising members of Oklahoma's secondary heading into the 2019 college football season has suffered a devastating injury.

Norwood had made steady improvements in his game over the past two years and was expected to play a key role in the secondary heading into his junior year.
He started all 14 games last year, registering 58 total tackles, five pass breakups and an interception. Norwood also scrounged up a sack and two tackles for loss.
According to Pro Football Focus, he was the best defensive back in the Big 12 last year on third and fourth downs, posting a conference-leading 72.2 grade in such situations.

The upcoming season will no doubt be tough to navigate without Norwood on defense. The Sooners' secondary was already weak heading into the year, and losing him makes their pass coverage problems that much more glaring.
Hopefully Norwood can make a full recovery and get back to the field heading into what could be a make-or-break senior campaign for his NFL Draft stock.
