VIDEO: Kyle Shanahan Has Blunt Assessment of Jimmy Garoppolo Throwing 5 Straight INTs in Practice

Jimmy Garoppolo is hoping to turn things around for the 49ers this season and bounce back from the ACL injury he suffered in September of last year. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like he's off to a great start, as he struggled mightily during Wednesday's practice and tossed five consecutive interceptions. Head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't shy away from the reality of the situation when asked about it after practice, bluntly calling out Garoppolo for his performance.

49ers defenders Jaquiski Tartt, Tarvarius Moore, Richard Sherman and Ahkello Witherspoon all came away with picks, and Moore managed to pick off two of the passes thrown by Jimmy G.

Fortunately for the 49ers, this was just a practice situation. But still, Garoppolo signed a five-year, $137 million deal with the team last offseason. He's their signal caller of the future and they're hoping he can live up to the lucrative deal he inked.

Coming off an ACL injury is never easy, and while the team was likely anticipating a bit of rust, they never foresaw their QB throwing it into the hands of the defense on five consecutive plays. Hopefully this is the low point for Jimmy G this year.
