VIDEO: Joey Chestnut Wins July 4 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest in Nauseating Fashion

The great American tradition of watching people eat themselves sick on national television is back for yet another Fourth of July. That's right, much of the United States was again tuned in Thursday for the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest, the most disgusting yet amazing annual event.

And, guess what: the same guy won, AGAIN. Joey Chestnut took home his 12th crown in 13 years, coming just three hot dogs shy of the world record 74 he ate in last year's contest. What an honor it must be.

For those of you wondering about the health effects of eating 71 hot dogs in 10 minutes, don't worry -- Darren Rovell's got the stats for you.

Let's just hope the future of competitive eating is a bit more, well, competitive. People got tired of the Warriors because they went to five straight championships, but no one mentions the lack of parity in the hot dog eating contest. Joey Chestnut is a one-man super team.

Congrats on the win, Joey. Hope your stomach's feeling alright.
