VIDEO: Gary Sanchez Crushes 20th Home Run of Season to Cap off Yankees' Destruction of Mets
By Parker White

The New York Yankees were laying it on thick against the Mets in the first game of their doubleheader on Tuesday, and instead of getting through it and preparing for tonight's game, catcher Gary Sanchez joined in on the fun and blasted his 20th home run of the season to make it 12-5.

Last year was a season to forget for Sanchez, as he struggled defensively and had no consistency at the plate. Well, in just 47 games this season, Sanchez already has 20 long balls and has clearly found a rhythm.
When healthy, you could argue that Sanchez is the best hitter on this Yankee team.
Gary Sanchez has 20 home runs. He's playing his 47th game.

All of last year, he had 18 home runs in 89 games. Back when he was a rookie sensation in 2016, he hit 20 in 53 games. ? pic.twitter.com/Z6k11IdSbe
The Yankees slugged three home runs in the first game today, so you can bet they'll have more on deck for the second game of the doubleheader against Jason Vargas.
