VIDEO: Footage Emerges of Former Oregon WR Keanon Lowe Disarming Would-Be School Shooter
By Jerry Trotta

Back in May, former Oregon Ducks wide receiver Keanon Lowe personified a real-life superhero when he tackled an armed would-be gunman on campus at Parkrose High School, where he now coaches. Original reports indicated that Lowe, a football coach at Parkrose, was forced to aggressively wrestle the would-be school shooter, Angel Granados-Diaz. Well, footage of the encounter has finally emerged, and it clearly depicts the moments immediately following the jostling for the weapon. The former Ducks pass-catcher even held Diaz before authorities arrived on the scene.
"I told him I cared about him, that people care about him. He was really surprised. He said, 'You do?' I said, 'Yep, I just met you and I care about you. It's going to be OK."https://t.co/IEDFIrLlmt https://t.co/cupymbOiNN

So, so shocking and so, so courageous. Calling Lowe a hero wouldn't even begin to describe the extent to which he laid his life on the line.
"Everything lined up for me to be in that room on that day and make that play," Lowe told ESPN in an interview in May. "It was like, 'All right, Keanon, you say you want to change lives. You say you want to do all this. You say you want to be here for the kids. Well, prove it, right there, in that instant.'"

Words can't even begin to describe how chilling this video is, and to think of the daunting alternate reality that could have been if not for Lowe is simply petrifying.
Thank you, coach. Thank you for being the reason that this world has seen one less violent tragedy.
