VIDEO: Brock Holt Walks Off Royals in Literally 12 Minutes in Total Waste of an Off Day

Earlier in the month on August 7, the Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox had their extra-inning ballgame suspended until this very day, enduring a torrential downpour that delayed the game two hours and led the two teams to pick it up on Thursday. On a mutual off day for both teams (both of which were supposed to be in different cities), it was a complete waste of time to get suited and booted, because it took roughly 12 minutes for Red Sox infielder Brock Holt to walk it off in the bottom of the 10th.

Now the Red Sox have to go to San Diego (?!), but they're one win richer.

Holt smashed a ball into the corner by the Green Monster, scoring the runner from second. Boom. Game over.

The best part of the whole thing was Holt's celebration afterwards.

That's right. He ran around like a little kid, with his teammates chasing behind him, sliding in feet first when he finally reached home plate.

It was a quick ending, but at least the fans (some of whom got in for free) can leave happy.
