USWNT Soccer Star Carli Lloyd 'Seriously Considering' Career as a Kicker for an NFL Team
By Jerry Trotta

The rumors were accounted for, but we genuinely didn't think there would be a follow-up report.
United States Women's National Team captain Carli Lloyd made headlines last week when she drilled a 55-yard field goal at a Philadelphia Eagles practice. The former CONCACAF Female Player of the Year's agent responded nearly a week later on Monday by claiming that she had an offer on the table to kick in an NFL preseason game.
Fast forward roughly 24 hours later to Tuesday, and a report has dropped that the two-time World Cup champion is "seriously considering" a post-soccer career as a kicker in the NFL.

“We are definitely thinking about it," said Lloyd's trainer, James Galanis. "Knowing Carli, this is why it is enticing for her, because it is a challenge. That’s what Carli thrives on, it is the next thing she can conquer. That’s why we have had half a dozen conversations about it in less than a week.”
“Kicking field goals comes down to the right mechanics," Galanis continued. "If you are an athlete in tune with your body whether you are male or female, if you have those right, there is no reason why you can’t score a field goal."
Wow. On Monday, an @NFL team approached @CarliLloyd to offer a roster spot for a preseason game and a chance to play. Can you think of a better person to make history? Me either. https://t.co/3xDKjfQ5y1 @FOXSports @NFLonFOX @FOXSoccer

This could potentially become a ground-breaking moment in the ever-prevalent gender barrier in sports. And we wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility as Lloyd is one of the most gifted technical strikers of the ball women's soccer has ever seen.
What reason is there to believe that efficiency couldn't translate to the football field? As always stay tuned for updates on this development. It appears to have more legs than we thought possible.
