The UMBC Athletics Twitter account rose to prominence in 2018 when the school's basketball team did the impossible as a No. 16 seed and took down No. 1 Virginia.

The account now has over 84,000 followers, and continues to tweet out hilarious things on a regular basis, though their latest viral tweet will not be enjoyed by Green Bay Packers fans...if any of 'em are still around at this point.

Absolutely brutal.

UMBC Athletics having a prominent Twitter account shows the impact of seizing the moment when in the spotlight. Those behind the account did that during the 2018 NCAA Tournament, and now that has given them a free pass to go viral on a regular basis.

The tweets technically relate to the school, of course, so they are not totally out of context.

The tweet about the Packers was also firmly correct, because the team seemed to forget to show up in the first half of Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. A 27-0 halftime deficit is inexcusable on such a big stage. Perhaps they thought it was a holiday?

All those behind the UMBC account did was point out the obvious and give students an easy way to remember that there is no class Monday.
