Tulsa Literally Put up Minus 73 Rushing Yards Against Michigan State in Week 1
By Karl Rasmussen

Michigan State's defense gave Tulsa a rude awakening in Week 1 as the Spartans took the win 28-7. Sparty's defense was impenetrable for the Golden Hurricane's rushing attack, and the numbers show just how bad the battle was.
Unbelievably, Tulsa recorded a total of -73 rushing yards in their season opener.

That's right. Michigan State's defense didn't give an inch to Tulsa, and in fact they pushed them almost 3/4 the length of the field in the opposite direction.
Tulsa didn't have a single player rush for positive yardage in the game, and their longest run of the night was eight yards. Quarterback Zach Smith had 10 carries for -32 yards, while Corey Taylor II picked up -1 yard on seven carries. Fumbles also cost the team an additional 40 yards on the ground.
Tulsa finished with -73 yards rushing in loss at Michigan State. Yes, negative 73

While the Golden Hurricane were never expected to put up much of a fight against Mark Dantonio's Spartans, this was far worse than the program could have predicted.
They'll be hard at work on their run game during practice, because this was about as bad a performance as a team could muster up.
