When the Boston Red Sox drafted right-handed pitcher Durbin Feltman out of TCU last year, it was believed that the dynamite college closer might end up being called up shortly after being selected.

That didn't happen, and at this point, who knows if he'll ever reach the big leagues?

In 17 appearances at Double-A Portland, Feltman owns a 6.05 ERA and has 20 strikeouts over 19.1 innings, and he's tallied 15 walks and given up three home runs in the process.

Feltman has been better recently, giving up just one run over his last 5.1 innings with six strikeouts. However, this is a kid with big time velocity who dominated opposing hitters at the college level, but it hasn't translated thus far in professional ball.

Boston has a leaky bullpen that could use someone with Feltman's pure stuff on the back end, but he's blowing his chance to save this pen and be a force down the stretch.

It's still early in his career, but the Red Sox have to be concerned with what he's shown thus far.
