As speculation continues to swirl around where Tom Brady will play in 2020 and beyond, the origins of one rumor about him joining the Tennessee Titans have been revealed.

Rumors about Brady leaving New England to sign with Tennessee emerged when Terry McCormick of TitansInsider.com relayed a story from Nashville attorney Blair Durham this past week. Durham's son, a high school student at Montgomery Bell Academy, relayed a story from another student who had claimed he saw Brady's wife Gisele Bundchen at the academy, after being told a "Hall of Famer" was on campus.

However, the woman he claims to have seen was actually the wife of another football player, one that has since retired but is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“My son goes to [Montgomery Bell Acadamy] and the Tom Brady rumors that happened that he and Gisele were touring MBA, how that happened, a sophomore kid goes down to their admissions director and asks his assistant if he can meet with them. She says, ‘He is currently meeting with a Hall of Famer.’ Steve Hutchinson’s son, Luke, is touring MBA and is in the office, and Steve Hutchinson’s wife, Landon, is a very pretty blonde that this 10th grader mistakes for Gisele, and it snowballed from there,” Durham said.

From there, the Nashville media ran with the story. While some outlets chose the path of skepticism and didn't report on the rumors, enough word got around to send the city of Nashville into Brady-mania

Brady is set to hit free agency in March, and has a relationship with current Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. Vrabel played in New England from 2001 to 2008 as a linebacker, and won three Super Bowls with Brady.

However, Tennessee is not a reported suitor for Brady in the realm of reality. Brady is either expected to return to the Patriots on a massive deal that could equate to a $30 million base salary, make the move to Las Vegas to join the Raiders, who have expressed interest in bringing the 42-year-old future Hall of Famer to Sin City, or be wined and dined further by other suitors. But one Nashville school isn't getting into the middle of things.
