The XFL is still a couple of months away from kickoff of its first game, but teams are already looking to upgrade their rosters.

Coaches are hoping to have the perfectly-assembled roster when the season gets underway, especially considering they won't have the luxury of assessing talent in preseason games. Well, even without having taken the field for a game, teams are making moves, as two trades have already gone down.

The Tampa Bay Vipers and Los Angeles Wildcats have swapped cornerbacks, with Arrion Springs being sent to LA in exchange for Jalen Collins.

Springs, a former Oregon Duck, never played a down in the NFL, though he spent brief stints with the Chiefs and Chargers. As for Collins, he was a second-round pick out of LSU and featured in 24 games across two seasons.

The second trade saw the Dallas Renegades send wide receiver Keith Mumphrey to the St. Louis Battlehawks in exchange for linebacker Markus Jones.

Mumphrey, a fifth-round pick by the Texans, featured primarily as a return specialist in the pros. He played college ball at Michigan State. Jones, on the other hand, picked up by the Ravens after going undrafted, but never featured in an NFL game.

It's certainly exciting to see some early action from the XFL, but overall it's a bit confusing. These teams are conducting trades before having played a down of football, but with no preseason to account for, teams are looking to improve ahead of the season debut and relaunch of the league.
