It's already known that the Warriors will be without Kevin Durant once again in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. After star guard Klay Thompson left Game 2 with an apparent hamstring injury, his status for Game 3 became unclear.

Just a few hours before the start of the game, head coach Steve Kerr says that Thompson is a game time decision. Whether that means he'll play limited minutes or carry on in his normal role for the team, the presence of Klay Thompson in the Warriors lineup is much needed.

According to multiple reports, the team would prefer that Thompson sit out for the game in order to rest his hamstring and avoid any further injury. However, Thompson has apparently "continued to lobby them" on playing in Game 3 in front of the Oakland crowd.

Since the time of the injury, Thompson made it clear that he had no intentions of sitting out and would be ready for Game 3. Kerr told USA Today, "Klay said he'll be fine, but Klay could be half dead and he would say he would be fine." Thompson has been dominant in this year's playoffs avergaing 19.5 points per game, and has carried that play into the finals.

Thompson dropped 21 and 25 points in Game's 1 and 2 against the Raptors. While players like Steph Curry, Demarcus Cousins, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala could pick up the slack if Thompson is absent, his impact is near irreplaceable.

Whether or not we'll see Klay Thompson on the court for Game 3 is still undecided. If he does get cleared to play, he may see limited time in order to stay in good health for the remainder of the series.
