Steph Curry-Andrew Wiggins Connection Already on Full Display in First Game Together

These Warriors looked different -- dare I say watchable -- in the return of arguably the greatest player in franchise history from a long injury layoff on Thursday night in the Bay.

Steph Curry was rusty, as expected, but in a few moments of pure brilliance that have been missing from this roster of misfits over the course of five exhausting months of terrible basketball, there were glimmers of hope. For Dubs haters, the struggles are everything they've ever wanted, and we hope they soaked it all in. With Curry back in the fold, Golden State looks formidable, and this is without the likes of Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and a lottery pick on the way.

The most encouraging sign in a close loss to the NBA Champion Toronto Raptors was the connection between Curry and new teammate Andrew Wiggins.

For those who didn't watch, this was Curry's first assist of the game.

Curry, as any of us would, took some time to readjust to the speed of the NBA game. He still has questions to answer, in particular the nerve damage in his non-shooting hand. Yet, the spacing Curry creates was already evident, and Wiggins took full advantage late. The former No. 1 overall pick still lacks a consistent three-point shot, but the one exception to the hole in his game is from the corner, where he made three wide open corner threes. All of those came with Curry on the floor, and were created due to the simple fact the defense pressed high against the best three-point shooter of all-time. Those shots aren't going away.

The Warriors season is over, and there's no guarantee the Wiggins experiment works, especially when the likes of Thompson, Green and any lottery pick/free agent acquisition joins forces with this Golden State evil empire rebuilt from scratch. In the early stages, however, there are signs it could be a successful marriage.

As if this team needed more luck.
