Steelers' Eric Ebron Signing Proves They're Going All-in on Offense for Ben Roethlisberger's Last Chance

38-year-old Ben Roethlisberger might only have a few more years in the NFL. He has been with the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2004, and now they're going all-in for his final year(s) with the signing of tight end Eric Ebron.

The tight end position was one of the Steelers biggest needs despite the presence of Vance McDonald. So, they went out and grabbed one of the best on the market in Ebron.

Pittsburgh signed the former Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions TE to a two-year deal worth $12 million. Ebron was drafted by the Lions with the 10th overall pick in 2014. He spent four years there, totaling 11 touchdowns and 186 receptions for 2,070 yards.

Then he went to the Indianapolis Colts for two years, where he became a Pro Bowler in his fifth season. He played just eleven games in 2019, but he'll likely be a great starting option for the Steelers now.

This year is a perfect window of opportunity for the Steelers. They have a few holes on offense, and Big Ben says he's ready and able to return to form.

If the two-time Super Bowl champ can stay healthy, and the defense looks as good as it did last year, the Steelers could have a much different season.

Don't forget, Roethlisberger still has something in the tank. In 2018 he led the NFL in passing yards for the second time in his career. With a reliable receiving target like Ebron, the Steelers could return to great heights, and challenge the Ravens in the AFC North.
