Drew Brees re-signed with the New Orleans Saints on a two-year, $50 million deal, giving fans hope that the team would have two more attempts to capture a Super Bowl before the future Hall of Famer's career comes to a close. But is that the case? Tuesday morning on ESPN's "Get Up," head coach Sean Payton referred to 2020 as Brees' "final season" and now we're confused.

We know Brees mentioned that 2020 could be his final season, but then he signed a two-year deal, seemingly giving himself insurance in case the Saints didn't go all the way next season. So what's going on?

Payton was talking about backup quarterback Taysom Hill's role on the team, and he let slip that Hill could see himself as the starter once Brees hangs up his cleats.

Maybe it was a mistake, but Payton seemed awfully comfortable with the statement. After all, the final year of Brees' contract is voidable, which makes it beneficial for both sides.

It seems like we'll just have to wait and see what happens in 2020 to determine if this is Brees' final season.
