Ryan Day Will Reportedly Promote Corey Dennis to Be New Ohio State Quarterbacks Coach

It goes without saying, but 2019 proved to be an unforgettable year for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Despite falling to No. 3 Clemson in the College Football Playoff, they went undefeated during the regular season and brought home yet another Big Ten title.
That success, though, resulted in Mike Yurcich landing the offensive coordinator job for Tom Herman at Texas. That news meant Ryan Day had to make a new hire to replace his quarterbacks coach, and he has decided to go with an in-house candidate to fill that role, per multiple reports.

Corey Dennis is the new coach who will be tasked with continuing to develop the strong right arm of Justin Fields and the rest of the Ohio State signal callers. Dennis is no stranger to the program, as he's been with OSU since 2015.
For the past two seasons, he's served as a senior quality control coach. Reports surfaced last month Dennis was set to receive an offer to become the QBs coach at Colorado State. However, once Yurkich officially left town, Day was able to keep Dennis in Columbus by giving him the same role.
Corey Dennis has never been a full-time assistant coach, but both Dwayne Haskins and Justin Fields have spoken highly of his work with them over the past two years.

“Basically, he’s like my personal quarterback coach when coach Day’s not around,” Haskins said in 2018.
This decision from Day provides continuity for OSU at the position, as Dennis has worked closely with the quarterbacks over the past couple of seasons.
