It seems like it will only be a matter of time until we all peep our phones and see an Adrian Wojnarowski or Shams Charania Twitter post breaking the news Russell Westbrook has been traded out of Oklahoma City.

The former MVP has all but played his last game for the Thunder, but it remains to be seen if he will be taking his talents to South Beach or somewhere else.

While the Heat have been coined the favorites for the last week or so, the Rockets are doing a bit of scheming themselves. Per ESPN insider Brian Windhorst, Houston is searching for a third team to aid their efforts in acquiring Brodie.

There's no doubting that Westbrook poises an all-time great allure on the court, but everybody knows his erratic and ball-centric style of play doesn't translate to playoff-winning basketball. There's a reason OKC hasn't won a road game in the postseason since Kevin Durant's departure in the summer of 2016.

Additionally, how exactly does Russ fit in with the Rockets' offensive system that often features James Harden holding the ball for 20 seconds of the 24-second shot clock?

He doesn't.

And what about Chris Paul, who is anything but a player who's willing to take a back seat? Could the nine-time All-Star potentially be dealt to a third team?

Who knows.

We understand that this potential blockbuster deal is still in its infancy stages, but a Harden-Westbrook tandem didn't exactly jive all that well in OKC. We just don't get why Daryl Morey and the Rockets would entertain the idea of running it back.
