With the Lakers and Clippers establishing themselves as the top two teams in the Western Conference, the Houston Rockets will need to make some serious moves in order to truly compete.

Fortunately for Rockets fans, it sounds like this is exactly what Daryl Morey and the front office are trying to do. Players aren't available for trade until December 15, but that hasn't stopped Houston from looking at certain assets to acquire, including Robert Covington, according to reports.

The 28-year-old forward would fit perfectly into Mike D'Antoni's system as the 3-and-D player they've desperately lacked ever since the departure of Trevor Ariza back in 2018.

The last time the Rockets had Ariza, they made it all the way to Game 7 against the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, and might have won that series if Chris Paul hadn't gotten injured.

Acquiring Covington is exactly what Houston needs to replicate that same success, so expect them to be aggressive once the window opens.
